Categories
Open Admin Center → Categories. Build a tree that matches how the organization thinks about knowledge (teams, products, regions, or policy types). Documents always belong to at least one category. If an uploader picks none, ScopeRAG uses Uncategorized. Plan limits cap how many categories you can create. Owners and administrators can also add a category from the Documents sidebar.Classification levels
Open Classifications. Each level has a name and a numeric rank. Higher rank means more sensitive. Example:
Assign every uploaded file a level. Groups use a level as the maximum their members may read.
Tags
Tags are free-form labels on documents. They do not grant access. They are useful in chat filters when you want a cross-cutting topic (for exampleq4-policy or onboarding) that is not a category.
Create and attach tags while uploading or editing a document.
Changing a category or classification later does not automatically rewrite past chat answers. New questions use the updated metadata.
